I love reading other people’s blogs. I’ve thought about writing my own, but not sure I’d be consistent enough. I recently ran across one that referenced clothing, health and beauty products, shopping and more. She does a fabulous job and if interested, check out Natalie’s blog at awholelatteluv.com (can you tell she loves coffee!?) Anyway, I’ve been experimenting with doing a blog of my own, a video blog called Kat’s NOT Cooking….I’m a terrible cook!!!!
I think it would be fun to go to restaurants, share with my viewers a little about the restaurant, the food we are eating and have some laughs with the person(s) I’m dining with and post every other week. The reason I think this is important, I’m a business owner and always looking for ways to attract and retain talented team members! The employment climate is ever changing and a FUN and engaging corporate culture, in my opinion, is KEY to success. The fact is, in a previous newsletter I wrote about change in our future workforce, how there really isn’t any more company loyalty per se, there is a rise in remote, flexible and project-based work available and finally, more entrepreneurship opportunities that are changing the employer expectations of our future workforce.
Today, you need a more mobile-friendly career website, employee blog, maybe an entertaining video about your company and team (see Columbia based accounting firm Williams Keepers on Youtube,) offer virtual tours and the list goes on and on.
For more tips, you can always call me! I’d love to visit.
